The Archimedes Competition is a second-stage, Tournament of Champions science fair sponsored by the Undergraduate Statistics Club of Virginia Tech.  Only first and second place projects from the Southwest Virginia Governor's School are qualified to compete.  Third place and Honorable mention projects are eligible with special permission.

The purpose of the Archimedes Competition purpose is to encourage and reward student research that involves the usage of experimental designs and statistical methods. Judging will emphasize these metrics as well as presentation skills and the student's ability to defend his or her research before a panel of statisticians.
